Here is the template for territories I propose: - Name
- Continent: the landmass it's located on
- Time period: the time period it was opened for colonisation
- Temperature: what kind of climate dominates (Ocean, Tropical, Temperate, Polar, Mountain, Subterranean)
- Type: what biome category is it under (Beach, River, Lake, Wetland, Rainforest, Woodland, Scrubland, Grassland, Desert)
- Native Fauna
- Native Flora
- Mineral Resources: this list will expand as new technology/methods of surveying are developed for detection
- Occupation: which group is currently in control of the region
- A description below detailing- - The types of seasons/weather
- Landmarks of interest
- Which group first explored this territory
my question is, will regular team members be creating territories, or will they we revealed by admins/moderators as people expand?

As said before, what territories are you referring to? What do you mean by a territory?

As said before, what territories are you referring to? What do you mean by a territory? A territory is a particular section of land, usually a self-contained habitat, which the Hod can occupy. For example, the Lioc Grasslands, Lujoc Flood Forest, and Roucalic Beachs are all territories.

Well as for Hod occupying a "territory" I feel this may be a confusing system being none of the examples classify as a specific area of land. rather these are ecosystems in which a group of animals react with each other all in a rough area. much like the Hod who, although I have set a basic shape of land for them to have as hunting grounds this is simply for coherency and the land the Hods use as hunting ground can vary greatly. I think it is necessary for there to be eventually a way to form territories though. I see the ecosystems as sort of pulsating blobs of species interaction. Hopefully this explanation makes sense.

I tend to look at these ecosystems as we have in Sagan 4: a patchwork of biome boundaries on the map. Granted on Sagan 4 we acknowledge that the edges aren't as clearly defined, but it is a necessary simplification so we can wrap our minds around where species should go. I could see the "Tribal" phase having the territories organically marked based on which habitat they live in, and when we move onto more city-state-based systems, we can mark the boundaries separate from the biomes within.

To tell you the truth, I've always found maps on sagan 4 rather confusing and rather unaccomplished(this maybe in part to the fact that there is a lot of biomes that don't have maps on sagan 4 though). It makes more sense to see an ecosystem in a conceptual sense rather than plotched on a map. however if you feel you need one I'll make a rough one for you(this may not be very immediate though being it's not really part of the plan I had in mind).

If you're having trouble with how S4 maps are drawn, let us know over on the forum. We're always trying to find ways to improve
